AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! New Laptop Day! Is there anything more exciting? (The answer is no, definitely not. Move over engagements, weddings, births of child, and new book release days – new laptop day is here!)

I’m not a huge tech person. Don’t need every new toy on the market. How they work is irrelevant so long as they do work. I got my last laptop about eight years ago. It has given me great and steadfast service, and I have used it almost every day since I got it. It has certainly earned its honorable retirement as an oversized paperweight. Still when new laptop day only comes around once every eight years, you should get a little excited.

And. I. Am. So. Excited.

It’s a shiny pale silver MacBook Air with a 13-inch screen. The latest 2020 model with 2T of memory and enough RAM to fill a sheep paddock. Light, compact, and highly highly portable, it is the perfect laptop for the traveling writer who uses her computer as a highly belled-and-whistled typewriter. You may think it’s wasted on me (and you may be right) but I don’t care.

It’s mine, mine, all mine.

So why a Mac? I’ve been a Apple girl since I got my first iPhone. I love the company’s design ethos. All their devices are so pretty and easy to use. Friends of mine who understand these types of things tell me the programming is really cutting edge.

And this laptop comes with a new chip! Yay! Don’t know how that impacts the computer (my knowledge of chips pretty much ends at dip) but just because I don’t know how it’s helping doesn’t mean I’m not benefiting from the increased higher IT power.

So happiness and rejoicing throughout the land and I’m off to play with my new toy!
